About the circuit
Hethel in Norfolk is Lotus's own test track, on a former RAF airfield next to the factory where Lotus cars are built.
Driving a lap
Lotus Hethel is 3.52 km (2.19 miles) a lap in Apex Drawn, with 8 corners: 5 rights and 3 lefts.
Turn 1 is a medium-speed left-hander.
The tightest corner is Turn 5, a right-hand slow corner: brake in a straight line before it, and get the car turned early so you can be back on the throttle as soon as possible.
The longest straight runs from Turn 5 to Turn 6, so the exit of Turn 5 matters more than its entry: a good exit carries all the way down it.
It is almost flat, so braking points stay the same all the way round.
