About the circuit
Rockingham, near Corby in Northamptonshire, opened in 2001 as the UK's first banked oval built for American-style racing, with infield road layouts. It closed for racing in 2018.
Driving a lap
Rockingham 1 is 3.30 km (2.05 miles) a lap in Apex Drawn, with 10 corners: 4 rights and 6 lefts.
Turn 1 is a slow left-hander - a heavy braking zone, and on the first lap the place most races are won and lost.
The tightest corner is Turn 7, a right-hand slow corner: brake in a straight line before it, and get the car turned early so you can be back on the throttle as soon as possible.
The longest straight runs from Turn 10 to Turn 1, so the exit of Turn 10 matters more than its entry: a good exit carries all the way down it.
The lap rises and falls gently - enough to feel the car go light over the crests.

Coming soon
Rockingham 1 is in the Airfields & Test Tracks pack, which isn't on sale yet. You can see it in Play → Real circuits in the game, and race the free circuits there today.
Each car keeps its own best lap on every circuit, so Rockingham 1 has a separate leaderboard for the GT, the Formula car, the kart and the hatchback. Start in the GT, which forgives a mistake; the Formula car is quicker everywhere but punishes a missed apex.
Signed in, you can also export it as a track for BeamNG.drive or Assetto Corsa, with its hills, kerbs and barriers.
